Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Javi and Paul's blog, "Realistic Change for Colgate." Javi Diaz and I (Paul Kasabian) are running for SGA President and Vice President of Colgate University. We love Colgate, and we will put ourselves on the line for the student body to make their experience as good as possible. Also, we believe in creating realistic change for Colgate through feasible initiatives.

Our platform for Colgate includes the following:
1. Creating awareness and resources related to sexual assault and suicide
2. Creating programming for Creed Day and continuing work with the Office of Diversity.
3. A student mentoring program (somewhat like Big Brother Big Sister), where upperclassmen can help first-years and sophomores in need.
4. Reforming the Cruiser schedule and adding signs at stops
5. Adding more trash and recycle bins on campus
6. Bringing back the Protestant Chaplaincy permanently starting in the 2010-11 school year.
7. Improving Colgate/Hamilton relations by inviting the town mayor to SGA meetings.
8. Recognizing Veterans Day on campus through charity drives, a plaque and/or a speaker from the military.
9. Shutting off some campus lights in the early morning hours.
10. PDF format course booklet from the Course Registrar.
11. Improving the hours at the Case cafe.
12. Working with CAB and the Athletic Dept. to give students bus transportation for big road games for Colgate sports.

Any other ideas? Let me know.

In general, though, I plan to give updates on our campaign progress and general thoughts about certain platform initiatives.

Take care and thanks for reading,

Paul
